PRIVACY POLICY
You do not need an account, name, email address, or social profile to play Bonkstorm.
WHAT STAYS ON YOUR DEVICE
Your daily best, run count, sound setting, and privacy choice are stored in your browser. These local game preferences work without analytics consent. Clearing browser storage removes them.
OPTIONAL PLAY STATISTICS
Only after you choose Allow Analytics, we assign a random browser identifier that expires after 35 days, a tab-session identifier, and random run and event identifiers. These are pseudonymous, not fully anonymous: they let us distinguish repeat runs from distinct consenting browsers and see whether a browser plays on more than one day. They do not identify a person, and different browsers or cleared storage may be counted separately.
We record run starts, reported survival time and outcome, game version, UTC challenge date, touch or desktop controls, portrait or landscape layout, and link-copy or native-share actions. A share action does not prove that a friend received or opened the link. A bounded pending-event queue stays in session storage for up to 24 hours so interrupted requests can retry without duplicate counts.
With analytics allowed, a tab-session may also include a fixed traffic-source label (Pinterest, Reddit, or direct/unknown), our launch campaign label, and one of our twelve Pin labels. These labels help compare visits, plays, and replays. We recognise only these predefined labels from the page link or referring site's hostname; we do not send arbitrary query values, full referring URLs, or social usernames to our analytics service. These are imperfect client-reported labels, not proof of a person's origin. We do not send this play data to Pinterest or Reddit or install their advertising pixels.
The dashboard uses the most recent 30 calendar days. Run and event records older than 35 days are excluded and removed by request-driven cleanup when the service is active; cleanup may be delayed while idle. Older aggregate-only totals remain separate as historical data. No account information, advertising IDs, or browser fingerprints are attached to play statistics.
YOUR CHOICE
Choose Essential Only to play without optional analytics. Reopen Privacy Choices in the footer at any time. Turning analytics off stops queued requests and removes the analytics identifiers and queue from this browser. It does not retroactively erase previously received records; those age out as described above.
PLAYER ISSUE REPORTS
A report you deliberately submit contains your description, category, game state, elapsed time, screen dimensions, game version, and a random report identifier for safe retries. Reports are visible only in the owner dashboard and retained for investigation and historical support. Do not include names, contact details, passwords, or other personal information in a report.
SECURITY AND HOSTING
Our hosting provider receives network information to deliver and protect the site. Hosting logs can include IP addresses, browser information, requested URLs, and timestamps; the provider manages their retention. Application rate limiting stores a time-bucket-specific hash of the connecting address, not the raw address. These temporary security counters expire after two days and are removed during subsequent requests. They are separate from analytics and are not used to identify players in the dashboard.
ADVERTISING
Advertising is disabled in this release. Allowing analytics does not consent to advertising. Ads will not be enabled without a separate advertising-consent implementation and the required partner approval. This policy will be updated before that changes.
CHANGES
We update this policy when data handling changes and update the effective date above.
